Lily Van Dyck was born and raised in China. As a young girl, she loved to draw. Her childhood dream was to be an artist. The Cultural Revolution in Communist China caused lily great anguish as one of her color chalk paintings “Ancient Beauty” was so good the Red Guards accused her beloved father of an infraction and sent him to jail. This political turmoil caused lily to leave her art and pursue a career as a OBGyn. Now , living in a quiet small city Paris, Tennessee - Lily’s talent is revisited and her childhood dream has come to fruition. Lily is diversified in her interests and talents. Other than oil paintings, she does wood burning, Chinese ink painting, crochet, sewing, knitting, smocking, quilting and embroidery design.
