As a child, Cherie loved drawing and painting. As a teen she would entertain her friends with cartoon characters. Some copied from books and some she created herself. She loved doing the paint by number sets. And after saving paints from several sets she started to paint her own paintings and learning more about colors and values.
After marrying and starting a family she used her artistic talents for school and church projects. Whenever something came up needing an artistic touch she was there.
Later when the family moved to Florida and the children were older she began to explore her art world again by joining the local art museum and taking classes in drawing and watercolor. She taught herself about paints, brushes and different papers and experimented with colors.
Her husband’s job brought her to West Tennessee and opened up her world of art even further. She had new subjects to paint and new people to paint with and learn more and more about the world she loves.
Cherie has taken art lessons from Tim Pafford, a local and well known artist in this area. She has taken many workshops from teachers such as Tom Lynch, Tony Couch, Tom Jones, Jeanne Carbonetti and Joe Fettingis. She loves learning from many different artists as it broadens her world.
Being a part of TRFAL has helped her to grow as an artist and a person and she wishes you to be a part of our ART World.
