Charles Lankford was born in Huntingdon Tennessee. WWII came along and he enlisted in the Navy at the age of 18. This is where he was introduced to Devine Intervention. He served in the European Theatre of War assigned to Higgins Boat attack landing craft, later with the larger LST 308 as a Signalman.
He was a Detroit Fire Fighter for 26 years.  Upon retirement in 1971, he returned to Tennessee finding a job with the Huntingdon fire Department  in 1974.  After four years he requested a position with the Carroll County Emergency Management Agency working for the purpose of building a Carroll County Fire Department. The idea was well received.
In his spare time he was busy with bird dogs and watercolor.  What else could there be?
